Our Story
Hi, I'm Tara — I draw, make, and ship everything at Adventurelust.
Adventurelust wasn't a business plan. It started because my family and I kept driving to national parks on our days off. We'd camp, hike, and wander around until we lost track of time, and I'd come home wanting to hold onto how those places felt. I'm the type who doodles on everything, so I started sketching the parks on my iPad — the shape of a ridgeline, the color the rock turned at sunset.
I drew them just for fun at first. Then friends wanted them, then people I'd never met did too. These days every design in the shop is still one I drew by hand, and I make each crewneck to order, one at a time.
I'm a first-generation immigrant and a Vietnamese-American mom of two, and building this from a sketchbook has meant more to me than I know how to say. Adventurelust is woman-owned, run out of our house, and every order that comes through is one I personally make and pack.
The part that still gets me: our designs started showing up in shops near the parks that inspired them, out in Utah and Washington. We drove out just to see them on the shelves. Watching a stranger pick up something I'd drawn on my couch, in a store at the edge of a national park — I got a little choked up, honestly.
So thank you for being here. When you order from us, you're not buying from a warehouse. You're getting a design made by one person who loves these places, and helping a small family shop keep going.
See you on the trail,
Tara
